Job description

Position Summary: 

The General Production Operator position is an entry level production operation position.  Responsibilities of a General Operator could include placing raw materials or products  into manufacturing machines or on conveyors, operating unloading or packaging  machines, ensuring product labelers are operating correctly, completing operational and  sanitation checks on equipment, and general cleaning activities as assigned. 

Essential Job Functions: 

• Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or Operations Lead Specialist, the  General Production Operator can perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to: 

➢ Basic batching operations under the guidance of an experience batch  room operator. 

➢ Operating the de-palletizer or the unloading of raw material on  automated conveyors. 

➢ Sleeving operations under the guidance of an experience operator

➢ Packaging operations both trays and boxes or cartons 

➢ Palletizing operations 

➢ Stocking various operations with supplies including de-palletizer,  sleever, packagers, and palletizer. 

➢ Filling in for team members on break, vacation, or absent in general.

➢ Raw and finished good material or pallet movement in-between process  or at the point of use for machine(s). 

➢ Aiding in machine or product changeover. 

➢ Aiding in the proper cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and  production areas of the facility when needed. 

➢ Ensure all chemical or secondary containers are correctly labeled.

➢ Inspect all products are produced to specifications ensuring correct date  code, label, case packing, and palletization format are followed. 

➢ Verify all raw materials and packaging to ensure they are correct and of  good quality before release or use. 

➢ Strictly abide by all company policies and procedures including but not  limited to Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP), Hazard Analysis and  Critical Control Points (HACCP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Safety. 

➢ Able to work effectively under pressure and willingly communicate a need  for assistance. 

➢ Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications: 

• This position requires 2 years of experience in similar duties. 

• Detail orientated person required for this position. 

• Ability to complete tasks in timely manner. 

• Capable of lifting 40 lbs.  

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. 

• Must always wear personal protective equipment. 

• Participates actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions.

• Ability to work a schedule of (5) full 8-hour workdays per week, with the  flexibility to occasionally work nights and weekends as needed. 

Preferred Position Qualifications: 

• Food and beverage manufacturing experience
