Job description

Executive Assistant

Garmin is seeking a highly skilled Executive Assistant to support the COO and executive office at our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the COO, helping to advance business initiatives, coordinate complex schedules, and provide comprehensive administrative support within the company's executive office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and focuses on the details, allowing leaders to focus on what matters most to the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the COO and collaborate with team members across the organization to support business objectives.
  • Develop high-impact presentations and draft internal and external communications in response to business needs.
  • Manage complex executive calendars, including meeting logistics, preparation, and execution to support efficiency and time management for leaders.
  • Assist with board meeting logistics and materials to enable smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate executive approvals and optimize workflow processes.
  • Plan logistics for high-profile meetings and events, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Receive calls and respond to correspondence to the executive office, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements, anticipating preferences and requirements.
  • Lead special projects to advance organizational objectives and perform other duties and functions as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience as an executive assistant supporting C-suite executives, OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrates high integrity, a positive attitude, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with advanced proficiency in grammar and editing.
  • Exercises discretion and sound judgment, especially when handling sensitive information.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Excel.
