Position Summary: HUXWRX Safety Co. is seeking a talented Illustrator / Mixed Media Artist to bring the brand and products to life through original illustration, mixed-media composition, texture, and visual storytelling across print, digital, merchandise, experiential, and campaign platforms. This is a proactive creative role. The right candidate brings strong artistic vision, translates complex concepts into clear and compelling creative work, and maintains a steady flow of self-generated ideas, visual experiments, and project concepts beyond assigned requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualization & Creative Execution:
    • Ideate and develop original illustrations and mixed-media artwork for a diverse range of marketing materials, including unique and original merchandise designs, website graphics, social media content, advertising campaigns, presentations, and internal communications.
    • Transform abstract ideas, technical information, and product concepts into visually compelling narratives, using illustration, texture, layering, digital composition, and other mixed-media techniques to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand alignment.
    • Experiment with various illustration styles, mixed-media techniques, textures, materials, and digital treatments to best convey specific messages and resonate with different target audiences.
    • Push creative boundaries while maintaining consistent visual language that reflects the HUXWRX Safety Co. brand aesthetic.
  • Artistic Development & Application:
    • Craft detailed and accurate visuals, illustrations, and mixed-media compositions that highlight product features, functionality, and proper usage in an engaging way.
    • Utilize your expertise in composition, color theory, texture, material application, and visual storytelling to create impactful and memorable artwork.
    • Develop and refine character designs, environments, product-inspired art systems, textures, patterns, and stylistic elements as needed for various projects.
    • Ensure all illustrated and mixed-media assets are optimized for their intended platforms, whether print or digital.
  • Collaboration & Team Integration:
    • Function as a key member of the marketing team, actively contributing to brainstorming sessions, content strategy, and campaign development.
    • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, graphic designers, copywriters, and other team members to ensure illustration and mixed-media assets seamlessly integrate with broader marketing initiatives.
    • Present illustration and mixed-media concepts and final artwork to team members, incorporating feedback thoughtfully and iteratively.
    • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of HUXWRX Safety Co.'s overall creative direction and visual voice.
  • Workflow Management:
    • Meticulously maintain and organize all illustration and mixed-media project files, including source files, final assets, and version control, in designated shared drives and digital asset management (DAM) systems.
    • Effectively apply time management skills to manage personal workflow and project deadlines using designated project management software and shared team calendars to ensure timely delivery of all assigned tasks.
  • General Marketing Support:
    • Assist in other marketing areas as needed or directed. These areas may include, but are not limited to:
      • Events: Supporting the creation of event signage, promotional materials, booth activations, experiential graphics, environmental visuals, and mixed-media display elements.
      • Social Media: Developing engaging visual content for various social media platforms.
      • Digital Marketing: Creating visual assets, digital compositions, textures, and illustrative treatments for online advertisements, landing pages, and email marketing.
      • Email Campaigns: Designing illustrative and mixed-media elements for email newsletters and promotional blasts.
      • Other Team Functions: Contributing to various ad-hoc projects and supporting general marketing initiatives as required.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging illustration and mixed-media techniques, materials, digital tools, and software advancements.
    • Proactively develop self-initiated concepts, visual ideas, and project opportunities that enhance the originality and effectiveness of HUXWRX Safety Co.'s marketing materials.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Illustrator / Mixed Media Artist with a strong, diverse portfolio showcasing your artistic range, technical proficiency, and ability to work across mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize a wide array of visual techniques, textures, layered treatments, and art mediums to create dynamic and impactful creative assets for both digital and print applications.
  • Experience with project management tools and digital asset management (DAM) systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate creative decisions clearly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, impactful artwork across illustration and mixed-media applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • A passion for innovative design, mixed-media exploration, and an interest in technical products is a plus.
