National Material Processing (NMP) was formed in 1964 and is considered a leader in metals processing and supply-chain management solutions. NMP supports prominent industrial and consumer product manufacturers across a wide variety of industries.
Our steel processing facilities are growing fast, and we are excited to be adding to our production teams!
Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Millwright Technician with enthusiasm and interest in machines to join our fast-growing team.

You’ll find yourself working in various settings for different industrial projects. On a daily basis, you’ll use specialized tools to build and repair machines. Ultimately, you’ll make sure that all machines operate properly, and our facilities remain safe.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment and perform preventative and predictable maintenance tasks
  • Perform routine electrical and mechanical problem solving on process and packaging equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with operators, peers, supervisors, and all levels of management
  • Provide support where needed and complete all duties assigned by team leader
  • Adhere to all safety policies including Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO), confined space procedures and all other plant safety policies.
  • Align equipment by using specialized tools (e.g., micrometer, plumb bobs)- Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals.
  • Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them and reassemble the parts.
  • Collect and store distinct machinery parts.

 

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a Millwright or in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with equipment and machinery
  • Strong communication and computational skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Team spirit
  • High school diploma or GED is necessary
  • 1-3 years in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Previous machine operation, material handling, production or other warehouse related experience is mandatory.
  • Basic math, measurement, computer skills, and ability to follow directions.
  • NMP employees must be able to repeatedly lift up to 10lbs and occasionally lift up to 30lbs as needed.
  • Ability to follow all safety and health regulations.
