Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping with lab duties as assigned by principal investigator or research staff, studying spreading depolarization and its involvement in secondary progression of acute brain injury. Duties include support of brain slice imaging and physiology studies, including preparation of solutions, running protocols for electrophysiology and imaging of brain slices. Additional duties include data analysis, general lab maintenance and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will receive additional on-the-job training by experienced lab personnel until he/she becomes proficient with assigned lab duties.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at date of hire.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of junior or senior year of high school; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with preparation of solutions and chemicals, and basic laboratory procedures. Experience with Microsoft office and data analysis. Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
