Job description

Line Cook

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our team! You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through perfectly executed, quality food. With previous experience as a cook, you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.

At Local Food Group, the Back of House team is just as vital to the execution of service as the rest of the team.  They are the engine that drives the restaurant.  They must be dedicated to improving their craft daily.  They will take just as much care into plating the first dish of service as they will to plating the last dish of service.  Their goal is to make sure that every dish being delivered to a guest is just as immaculate as the last time they joined us and the next time that they will join us.  Their goal is nothing less the pursuit of consistent perfection.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Maintain freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, storing items at the proper temperature and rotating stock.
  • Ensure all food items are accurately and consistently prepared according to recipes, up to restaurant quality standards, and served in a timely manner.
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, other cooks, and front-of-house team  to maintain a positive workplace.
  • Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain).
  • Effective communication skills .
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
