No Experience Arduino Developer information

What is the easiest tech role to get into?

For an entry-level Arduino developer with no experience, roles such as electronics technician or hobbyist programmer are accessible, often requiring basic understanding of microcontrollers and simple coding skills. These positions typically involve hands-on work with hardware and may require familiarity with tools like Arduino IDE and basic circuit design, making them suitable starting points for beginners.

What is the difference between No Experience Arduino Developer vs No Experience Electronics Technician?

AspectNo Experience Arduino DeveloperNo Experience Electronics Technician
Required CredentialsBasic knowledge of Arduino, online courses, or certificationsHigh school diploma, basic electronics courses
Work EnvironmentLabs, workshops, or remote projects involving microcontrollersManufacturing facilities, repair shops, or maintenance settings
Industry UsageElectronics, IoT, prototyping, hobbyist projectsElectronics repair, equipment maintenance, manufacturing

Both roles often require foundational electronics knowledge and hands-on skills. The main difference is that No Experience Arduino Developers focus on programming and prototyping with Arduino microcontrollers, while No Experience Electronics Technicians handle troubleshooting and repairing electronic devices. Understanding these distinctions helps job seekers target the right entry-level position in the electronics industry.

Job description

About Rainmaker
Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to solve water scarcity and inclement weather problems. We develop and incorporate radar validation, weather-resistant UAS, numerical weather modeling, and sustainable cloud seeds into an effective precipitation enhancement solution.
The Engineering Team
The Engineering team at Rainmaker works on our UAS, dispersion payload, and in-situ/remote sensing systems. If you are interested in working in an extremely innovative and fast paced environment, where your work directly makes an impact and difference in our operational system, this is a fantastic opportunity.
The Role
In this role you will be reporting directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer and will be
working on mission critical subsystems for our UAS platform.
What You'll Do:
  • Rapid Hardware Prototyping: Design and build functional prototypes for UAS subsystems, iterating quickly based on flight test feedback and mission requirements.
  • >
  • PCB Design: Create schematic and layouts for power distribution, sensor interfaces, payload controllers and communication modules using Altium or KiCad.
  • >
  • Board Bringup and Testing: Assemble, debug, and validate new PCBs; develop test procedures and fixtures to verify functionality and reliability under flight conditions.
  • >
  • Documentation: Write technical documentation, prepare fabrication and assembly data for manufacturers.
  • >
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Mechanical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing
  • >

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with PCB design software (Altium or KiCad)
  • >
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, RP2040)
  • >
  • Embedded Programming Experience (Rust, Arduino, Python, or C++)
  • >
  • Familiarity with power electronics circuits. (Buck and boost converters, BMS, power
  • >
  • switching circuits)
  • >
  • Experience with EE Lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Power Supply, DC Load, etc.)
  • >
  • Experience applying technical ability outside of the classroom (Personal projects, research, extracurriculars, or prior internship/work experience)
  • >
