Job description

Serve as flight captain for all company owned aircraft in the safe, comfortable and efficient transport of Stephens employees and members of the Stephens family.
This position is designated as a safety and security sensitive position pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act and is subject to drug and alcohol testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate company owned aircraft according to Federal Air Regulations, the aircraft manufacturer's operating manual and the company Aviation Department policies and procedures.
  • Make required pre-flight inspection of aircraft, obtain thorough weather briefing, make fuel, weight, and balance calculations, and file appropriate flight plan for all authorized flights.
  • While in-flight, monitor all aircraft systems and weather conditions, maintain required communications, and observe and assist passengers as necessary to ensure the safest and most comfortable trip possible.
  • Oversee and ensure the servicing and security of aircraft at all stops.
  • Maintain personal proficiency in professional responsibilities through participation in schools, training courses, workshops etc. and by reading and studying appropriate publications and texts.
  • Assure that personal health and physical abilities are maintained at optimum level to safely operate aircraft.
  • Serve as a corporate representative with passengers, customers, associates, and general public.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of related flight experience and 3500 flight hours with a minimum of 1000 hours of jet time and 1000 hours of multi-engine time.
  • Aircraft specific training as required. An aircraft type rating is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Aircraft type ratings in appropriate aircraft, Falcon DA-Easy, DA-7X and or GVII type ratings preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) test to acquire airport security badge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly have full use of feet to exert 40-50 pounds of force.
  • Ability to work with aircraft equipment and computer equipment for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to operate aircraft equipment, computer equipment, standard office equipment or tools.
  • Ability to meet specific vision requirements that include use of close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to speak and hear.
  • Ability to concentrate and maintain focus for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, reach, lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

REQUIRED TESTING
  • Annual testing on aircraft systems, normal, abnormal and emergency procedures, aircraft performance, avionics and the latest changes in Federal Aviation regulations and those of foreign countries.
  • Annual flight physical exam.
  • Must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) test to acquire airport security badge.
