A day in the life:
As a Senior Global Information Systems (GIS) Software Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse Global Information Systems (GIS) software systems (e.g., secure enterprise deployment, data management, mapping and visualization, processing-intensive analytics and discovery solutions, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Works individually or as part of a dynamic and innovative Global Information Systems (GIS) focused team
  • Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results
  • Proactively provide and resolve solutions in support of software secure enterprise deployment
  • Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the GIS development environment
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Debug existing software and correct defects
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new GIS analysis features
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed data management databases or data repositories
  • Write and review software and system documentation

What you bring to the table:
  • 14+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required OR 4 years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be accepted in lieu of a degree
  • Experience developing solutions with esri ArcGIS Enterprise tools
  • Demonstrated development experience with languages such as Java, C# and .Net
  • An active US Government TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph

Salary Range:
  • Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
  • Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is $165,000 - $250,000.
