Job description

About Us
Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who've shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. We have raised over $175M with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors-industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.
We're looking for Full-Stack Software Engineers to help build and improve the powerful web-based design app at the heart of our platform. We're a remote-first team; this role can sit anywhere in the continental US.
What You'll Do
You'll develop new features, squash bugs, and make meaningful improvements to a complex TypeScript/React/Redux codebase - all with an eye toward delivering real value to our users: homebuilders designing real homes for real people. Expect to:
  • Build features: Implement user-facing functionality that helps homebuilders design, customize, and visualize homes faster and more accurately
  • Fix bugs and edge cases: Chase down tricky bugs and unexpected behavior in a large, real-world production system
  • Improve the codebase: Refactor and evolve a mature React + TypeScript codebase to make it more maintainable, efficient, and friendly for future contributors
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with engineering teammates, product managers, and customer success to ensure what you ship is grounded in real-world user needs
  • Test with purpose: Write tests that increase confidence and prevent regressions
  • Grow and elevate: Contribute to a team culture that values curiosity, pragmatism, and thoughtful improvement
About You
You're a pragmatic engineer who takes pride in delivering solid features to real users - and you care about the craft of building software that's maintainable and resilient. You like working in a mature, complex codebase and improving it as you go. You enjoy debugging just as much as building new things because both lead to better outcomes for your users.
You might not be an expert yet in geometric modeling (things like meshes, BReps, or NURBS) but you're curious. If you just researched some of those and got even more excited about this opportunity, you're our kind of developer.
You have:
  • 4+ years of experience building production web applications
  • Solid skills in TypeScript, React, and Redux
  • Experience working in and improving large front-end / full-stack codebases
  • Interest in 3D graphics, visual tools, or design software (bonus if you've worked with WebGL or WebGPU)
  • A user-focused mindset: you care about the impact your work has on real people
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • Professional fluency with modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, paired with clear ownership of the correctness, maintainability, and behavior of the code you produce.

While we've identified the core experience and skills required above, please still apply if you have more or different experience than this! We will use your previous experience and performance across the series of interviews to establish appropriate level within our organization in a fair and equitable way.
Working at Higharc
Higharc has been remote first since our founding in 2018. We offer flexible hours so you can do your best work without missing out on life. Higharc offers competitive salaries with significant equity, in a fast-growing, well-funded company.
Personal healthiness is an important value for us- we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with flexible PTO, and meaningful maternity/paternity leave to all U.S based employees that are full-time. You'll also have access to other big-company benefits such like short and long-term disability plans and a 401K. Haven't worked remotely before? We provide a stipend to create the ideal home office.
Please note: we are seeing an uptick of fraudulent recruiting activity claiming to be associated with Higharc. All communication and outreach from our in-house team will come from an @higharc.com email address.
