Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Burn ICU position requiring Trauma Level II experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Care for critically ill patients including complex wounds and burns
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active WI or compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only required); PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management
  • Experience with chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience managing vasoactive and sedation drips, and IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury management preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to burn and multisystem organ dysfunction patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
  • All references should be excluded from consideration materials
  • Telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment due to travel experience requirement
