Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift MS/ICU/IMC position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications and prior ICU experience.

Details
  • Acute care setting in a Level 4 trauma facility with a combined MS/ICU/IMC unit of 20 beds
  • Patient ratios vary by area: MS 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, and Pediatrics 1:3-4
  • Cares for a diverse adult and pediatric patient population including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, ortho, sepsis, and outpatient infusion cases
  • Utilizes Cerner EMR, currently transitioning to Epic
  • RNs are required to titrate drips such as Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine
  • Tele monitoring is remotely managed by techs, though RNs must be able to read rhythm strips as needed
  • Works with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U, and Hamilton ventilators, supported by 24/7 RT coverage
  • Charge Nurses take a patient assignment while the House Supervisor rounds throughout the facility
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Low census call rotation required, with rare cancellations
  • Floating required in-house to ED, UC, and PACU, and interfacility to Park Falls and Weston as needed
  • Unit orientation includes 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation plus 1-2 days of on-shift orientation
Requirements
  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
  • ICU experience required, pediatric experience preferred
  • Ability to titrate high-acuity medication drips
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care across a combined medical-surgical, ICU, and intermediate care unit
  • Collaborate with Charge Nurses, CNAs, and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy support
  • Navy scrubs required for RNs
  • All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
  • Candidates who previously worked at the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
  • Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
