Location: Complete Care at Boulevard – Chicago, IL

Schedule:

  • Full Time: Night Shift - Monday - Friday

  • Part-Time: Night Shift (8P-8A- Every other weekend)

As a Nurse Shift Supervisor (RN), you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance during the critical overnight and weekend hours.

Core Responsibilities

As a Nurse Shift Supervisor (RN), you will lead the frontline nursing team to ensure clinical excellence and resident safety. Your primary duties will include:

  • Comprehensive Clinical Oversight: Coordinate detailed patient assessments, review acute change-of-condition reports, oversee complex treatment plans, and manage urgent physician communications.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Directly supervise nursing staff performance on the floor. You will ensure strict compliance with state and federal guidelines, audit medication administration records (MARs), and provide real-time coaching to floor nurses and CNAs.

  • Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct routine, thorough nursing rounds to track resident progress, address immediate clinical concerns, and ensure all charting meets HIPAA-compliant and defense-eligible documentation standards.

  • Staff & Family Education: Act as a primary clinical resource for night-shift staff and families, explaining care plans with compassion and promoting evidence-based best practices in wellness and recovery.

  • Operational Collaboration: Partner closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Facility Administrator to report shift metrics, manage emergency staffing adjustments, and maintain seamless, 24/7 facility operations.

Qualifications

To excel as our Nurse Shift Supervisor (RN), you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Licensure: An active, unencumbered Illinois RN license in good standing.

  • Experience: charge nurse experience, preferably within a hospital, sub-acute, or skilled nursing/long-term care setting. Experience in palliative care, rehabilitation, or complex inpatient care is highly preferred.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams under pressure, exceptional communication skills, and strong proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical software platforms.
