Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an IMC/Stepdown unit requiring telemetry, oncology, cardiac, ventilator and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit at an academic Level I/II trauma teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am
  • Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend required
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed across units
  • Utilizes the Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied for
  • Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
  • Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting assignment
Additional Information
  • Provide care for telemetry, oncology, and cardiac patients in a progressive care/stepdown setting
  • Includes cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Responsibilities may include ventilator management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and wound care
  • Located at a Magnet-designated academic medical center ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Telemetry exam requires 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification and an 80% or higher passing score, with up to three attempts allowed
  • A cardiac interpretation review course certificate is required if the telemetry exam is failed twice before a third attempt is granted
