Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to coordinate mental health treatment both within our facility and in the broader community.
  • Provide mental health training and in-service education to our medical, psychiatric, and security staff as needed, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of mental health issues.
  • Intervene in and defuse mental health emergencies, employing crisis intervention techniques to maintain a safe environment.
  • Attend commitment hearings when required, representing the facility's interests and advocating for patient needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for a diverse range of patients, tailoring interventions to support their unique challenges and objectives.
  • Document all patient contacts according to facility protocols, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of medical records and adhere to HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy is always protected.
  • Verify past patient mental health histories, including previous psychotropic medication regimens, to inform current treatment strategies.
  • Prepare regular and special reports as necessary, summarizing treatment progress and outcomes for administrative review.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and mental health staff to facilitate post-release referrals, ensuring continuity of care for patients transitioning out of our services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
