Job description

General Responsibilities:  The Golf Shop Attendant works closely with the Golf Professionals to insure a smooth running first class golf shop.  Provide a friendly, enthusiastic and sincere atmosphere where members and guests always feel welcome and appreciated.  This position is responsible for the specific duties listed below, but not limited to the following.

Specific Duties:
  • Open or close the golf shop for daily operation.
  • Attend to members needs as they enter the golf shop.
  • Answer phone calls promptly.
  • Responsible for proper accounting and management of the daily tee sheet.
  • Specifically responsible for charging green fees and cart fees.
  • Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shop.
  • Assist members/guests with any merchandise needs.
  • Record and place special orders upon requests.
  • Know from memory, the Club’s rules and regulations.  (Including hours of play, guest rules and fees, dress code, etc.).
  • Maintain clean and orderly golf shop at all times. 
  • Restock scorecards, pencils, tees, ball marks and water.  Notify Head Professional if any of these supplies need to be reordered.
  • Assist Golf Shop Manager with displays and inventory receiving, including special orders.
  • Communicate with starter regarding tee times and special requests.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Basic Retail knowledge, but not necessary
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Must be able to greet membership in a friendly, courteous manner.

Appearance Standards: 
Professional appearance must be maintained at all times.

Appropriate Dress:  Golf Professional attire or business causal is appropriate.
