Position Summary

The Night Crew Supervisor supports the Night Crew Manager in overseeing all overnight stocking and store recovery operations. This position helps ensure merchandise is stocked efficiently, inventory is maintained accurately, store standards are achieved, and associates work safely and productively. The Night Crew Supervisor plays a key role in leading overnight teams, maintaining operational excellence, and preparing the store for business each day.

Key Responsibilities Department Operations
  • Assist in directing nightly stocking, merchandising, and recovery activities.
  • Ensure freight is unloaded, stocked, and displayed according to company standards.
  • Monitor stocking productivity and ensure work is completed within established timelines.
  • Verify proper product rotation and inventory handling procedures.
  • Maintain shelf conditions, department presentation, and overall store readiness.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing Night Crew associates.
  • Provide daily direction and assign workload to team members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Monitor associate performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Night Crew Manager.
Inventory & Merchandising
  • Ensure products are stocked accurately and inventory discrepancies are reported.
  • Assist with managing backroom organization and storage procedures.
  • Verify shelf tags, signage, and pricing accuracy.
  • Support planogram execution and merchandising initiatives.
  • Help reduce shrink through proper inventory control practices.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the store.
  • Monitor proper use of equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and stocking tools.
  • Report and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts.
Customer Service
  • Promote a customer-focused culture, even during overnight operations.
  • Assist customers professionally when interacting during stocking hours.
  • Help resolve customer concerns effectively and courteously.
  • Support store service standards and overall customer satisfaction goals.
Financial Performance
  • Assist in achieving labor, productivity, and operational performance goals.
  • Support efficient use of labor resources and equipment.
  • Monitor workload completion and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Help control expenses through effective inventory and operational practices.
Qualifications
  • Previous grocery, retail, stocking, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, and stocking procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise consistent with job requirements.
