Job description

Position Summary

Fabuwood is seeking a skilled and dependable Edge Bander Machine Operator to operate our new edge bander during the night shift. This role is responsible for machine setup, operation, quality assurance, basic troubleshooting, and maintaining consistent production output. The ideal candidate will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), perform routine machine inspections, and ensure all products meet Fabuwood's quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation
  • Operate the edge bander independently throughout the night shift.

  • Set up and monitor the machine to ensure optimal performance and production efficiency.

  • Perform routine machine inspections, including copy wheels, glue pot, pressure settings, and other critical components.

  • Monitor production output and make minor machine adjustments as needed.

Quality Assurance
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Immediately identify and report product defects or quality concerns.

  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent product quality.

Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve minor mechanical or operational issues.

  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the Supervisor and Maintenance team.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.

Safety & Documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies and proper material handling procedures.

  • Complete required production reports, machine checklists, and documentation accurately.

  • Communicate production updates, quality concerns, and operational issues to the appropriate team members.

QualificationsRequired
  • Previous experience operating manufacturing machinery or industrial equipment strongly preferred.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor troubleshooting.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

  • Ability to read and follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently during the night shift.

  • English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus but not required.
