Adjunct Professor of English/Communications
DEPARTMENT: English/Communications
TERM: 2026 Fall Semester
JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS:
Nichols College, a business-oriented, four-year College, is seeking a strong teacher to join our adjunct/part time faculty team, to begin Fall 2026. Openings include in-person sections of our first-year course College Writing and first-year course Effective Speaking, with other sections potentially available based on enrollment.
As an adjunct faculty member, you'll provide practical hands-on instruction in an engaging learning environment, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis. A successful adjunct may be appointed for future semesters.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
  • Master's degree (or higher) in English, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Previous teaching experience, college level preferred

Nichols College is a college of choice for business and leadership education with a distinctive focus on professional development and the pursuit of passion. The picturesque 200-acre campus is located in the town of Dudley, a rural New England Community one hour from Boston, Harford and Providence. The College has 1200 undergraduates and 200 graduate students, and a diverse faculty.
Founded in 1815, Nichols is a private, primarily 4-year undergraduate business school offering a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with 20 concentrations. The College also offers 7 Bachelor of Arts degrees, as well as 4 graduate degrees: MBA, MSA, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Master of Science in Counterterrorism. Nichols is NECHE and IACBE accredited; additionally, the Sport Management program is COSMA accredited.
