Title: Dock Worker/Jockey

Reports to: Second Shift Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Job Type: Full-time

FSLA: Hourly, non-exempt

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and overtime as needed to fulfill assigned work.

Purpose of Position: The second shift Dock Worker/Jockey will work with the warehouse team by stagging trailers in appropriate docks, assisting in loading and unloading trailers and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

· Coordinate trailer movements to support warehouse and cross-dock operations while maintaining an organized yard.

· Assist with loading, unloading, and cross-docking freight as needed to support daily operations.

· Inspect empty trailers for cleanliness and readiness prior to loading.

· Monitor refrigeration units on trailers, including temperature settings and fuel levels, and refuel units as needed to maintain product integrity.

· Verify that load bars, bulkheads, and other trailer equipment are properly positioned and secured.

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements/Preferred:

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

· Knowledge of warehouse, shipping, receiving, and cross-dock operations are preferred.

· Class A CDL preferred; willingness and ability to obtain a CDL if training is provided.

· Forklift certification preferred; ability to become certified through company-provided training.

· LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight experience preferred.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:

The Dock Worker/Jockey must have the ability to safely perform physical requirements of the position, including frequently moving around; frequently stand, bend, twist, stoop, and squat; regularly walk continually sit or stand for up to 10 hours; regularly push, pull and lift 20 lbs., and periodically lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to work in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and dusty.
