Job description

Responsibilities
Mid-level System Engineers employ a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the NGA to ensure timely and accurate execution of corporate mission and functions.
Duties include:
  • Assesses corporate IT change requests against current enterprise capabilities, policy and strategy.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and document IT functional requirements to inform solution cost estimating and implementation by the service provider.
  • Conducts planning, analysis and traceability of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems or workflows.
  • Assists in the translation of customer needs into derived systems/capability requirements.
  • Assists in performing user acceptance testing for corporate applications or services.
  • Assists the Government in performing systems implementation activities.
  • Assists with Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (COAs), and Engineering Assessments.
  • Assists the Government in strategic technical planning, project management, system engineering, and risk management of corporate applications or services.
  • Assists the Government in managing customer capability change requests (CRQ), related requirements documentation and activities within a centralized portal/database.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 12+ years of work experience as a System Engineer.
  • 12+ years of work experience in government or industry. Relevant work area(s) include: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of complex Information System.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired:
  • Previous NGA, IC or DoD program/project work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting functional requirements

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
