Job Description

You'll join a team that powers something remarkable behind the scenes: the platform that keeps thousands of production and engineering crew members moving seamlessly across the world's biggest live events, from the NFL, NBA, Golf sporting events to the Olympics. Every day, you'll see your work ripple outward — the crewing, scheduling, travel, and payroll systems you help refine are what let productions run without a hitch, no matter how large or geographically complex the event. You'll be plugged into a platform that ties together best-of-breed vendor tools with core proprietary systems, giving you a front-row seat to how a single source of truth gets built for an entire operation.

As an Associate Business Analyst, you'll be right where the action starts — learning the ropes of product management alongside a Senior Product Manager who'll help you turn real business needs into clear, actionable requirements. You'll get hands-on with agile delivery, contribute to decisions that shape how thousands of crew members experience their work, and build a foundation of skills in a fast-paced media and live-events environment unlike any other. If you're early in your career and want to learn product thinking by doing — not just watching — this is where you'll grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the collection and documentation of business and functional requirements for event planning, crewing, onboarding, travel, hotel allocation, equipment management, and reporting workflows, under the guidance of senior BAs/PMs.
  • Help maintain the product backlog in Jira (or equivalent) — writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics in partnership with senior team members.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project artifacts: requirements docs, process flows, wireframes/user flows, and release notes, using tools such as Confluence, Lucidchart, or Figma.
  • Partner with QA to log, triage, and track defects through resolution using Jira or similar test-management tooling; help write and execute basic test cases and support UAT sessions.
  • Support data analysis and reporting requests by querying dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and helping translate findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Assist with vendor and integration coordination — helping document data flows between the platform and downstream systems (e.g., HR/payroll systems,, travel & expense platforms, and third-party crewing/staffing vendors).
  • Help prepare and maintain end-user training materials and job aids; support training sessions for event operations staff.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies (standups, backlog grooming, sprint review/retro) as part of an agile delivery team.
  • Track action items, risks, and open issues across concurrent workstreams, escalating appropriately to senior team members.
  • Gather and organize stakeholder feedback (via surveys, interviews, or support tickets) to feed into the product roadmap.
  • Provide basic post-launch support — monitoring for issues, documenting bugs, and coordinating fixes with engineering.
  • Take ownership of small, well-scoped enhancements or process documentation projects as your first "solo" deliverables, with senior review.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; internships involving product management, business analysis, project coordination, or software requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, structured documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple small tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools (Excel/Smartsheets/AirTable).
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum concepts and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc...
  • A proactive, curious attitude — eager to learn the business domain and ask good questions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-based environment.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Exposure to SQL is a plus.
  • Interest in or exposure to media, broadcast, or live sports/event production.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, or similar) for drafting requirements, summarizing meetings, or accelerating documentation.
  • Basic understanding of API-based system integrations (what they are, how data flows between systems) — no engineering background required.
  • Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Retool) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with any HRIS, travel & expense, or workforce management software (professionally or through school projects).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. as needed for event support.
  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Learn more about the benefits offered by NBCUniversal by visiting the Benefits page of the Careers website. Salary range: $90,000 - $115,000.
