Position Summary

NextGen Job / Premarital Program Coordinator (VA, Part Time - 24 hrs/week) supports Asian American young adults through job readiness services and premarital relationship education. The role focuses on outreach, recruitment, and engagement of Korean and Chinese 2nd-generation community members to increase access to culturally and linguistically appropriate services. The position provides job readiness support for NextGen participants, including job counseling, career development guidance, and assistance with employment preparation. The role also includes facilitating and coordinating workshops, supporting participant follow-up, conducting outreach activities, and maintaining basic data collection and reporting to ensure effective program delivery and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, engage, and support Korean and Chinese American young adults participating in the NextGen program
  • Provide job readiness services, including career counseling, resume development, interview preparation, and employment support
  • Facilitate and coordinate premarital relationship education workshops and related activities
  • Conduct outreach and community engagement efforts to increase program awareness and participation
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and employers
  • Monitor participant progress and provide follow-up support to encourage successful outcomes
  • Maintain participant records, collect program data, and prepare required reports and documentation
  • Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure effective service delivery
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to support program activities and events
  • Represent KCSC at community meetings, outreach events, and networking opportunities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Relevant experience working with young adults, workforce development, community engagement, or educational programs may be substituted for formal education on a case-by-case basis.
  • Bilingual proficiency (verbal and written) in English and Korean is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Korean and/or Chinese American community, particularly second-generation young adults and their unique cultural experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, group discussions, or educational programs preferred.
  • Ability to provide basic career guidance, job readiness support, and participant coaching.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Experience with data entry, record keeping, and program reporting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for outreach events, workshops, and community meetings.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by program activities.
