Role Overview
The Database Administrator Intermediate supports reporting, analytics, and data management activities within a government healthcare environment. This role focuses on designing, building, maintaining, and executing SQL-based reports, Power BI dashboards, and data analysis solutions using structured and unstructured datasets. The position requires strong experience with SQL, Power BI, Excel, electronic healthcare records, and medical terminology to deliver accurate insights and support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Dashboard Development
  • Design, build, maintain, modify, schedule, and execute standard, ad hoc, and recurring reports
  • Develop reports and dashboards using SQL, MySQL, Power BI, and Excel
  • Create visualizations and reporting outputs that support operational and leadership decision-making
  • Support trend analysis, performance analysis, predictive forecasts, and text analytics
Data Extraction, Analysis & Management
  • Extract, manage, and analyze data from multiple systems and sources
  • Work with large structured and unstructured datasets to support reporting and analytics needs
  • Interpret data sources, extraction methods, and business context to produce actionable insights
  • Ensure data outputs are relevant, accurate, and aligned with business objectives
Performance Analytics & Business Insights
  • Use performance analytics to identify trends, measure key metrics, and support business outcomes
  • Advise stakeholders on the accurate and efficient use of reports, dashboards, metrics, and systems
  • Translate data findings into practical insights for operational improvement
Documentation, Training & Consultation
  • Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation for reporting processes and procedures
  • Provide training and consultation to peers on reports, dashboards, analytics, and data usage
  • Support knowledge transfer related to data sources, reporting tools, and analytical methods
Prioritization & Delivery Support
  • Manage multiple reporting and analytics tasks simultaneously
  • Work through ambiguous requirements to define priorities, clarify needs, and deliver actionable results
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements and improve data-driven processes
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with SQL
  • 3 or more years of experience with Power BI
  • 3 or more years of experience working with large datasets in a government environment
  • 3 or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel
  • 3 or more years of experience working with electronic healthcare records
  • 3 or more years of experience with medical terminology
