Job description

About Nexon

Nexon America is a branch of Nexon Co., Ltd., a global video game publisher and leading developer of online virtual worlds for PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. Nexon proudly offers celebrated franchises like MapleStory and Mabinogi that have been enjoyed by millions of players for over two decades. When we founded our Nexon America branch in 2006, we made it our goal to bring those unique games to western players using a player-first approach. We achieve that goal by applying our teamโ€™s outstanding free-to-play expertise and live game support to every decision, every day.

But weโ€™re committed to more than our games! Here at Nexon America, weโ€™re all about open communication, diversity, mutual respect, and collaboration, so we can bring out the best in each other. Nexies find support, friendship, and career growth all in one place! And because we know a healthy work-life balance is the key to happiness, Nexies also enjoy flexible hours, a hybrid work model, and extra perks like food trucks, happy hours, and team events. Itโ€™s why weโ€™ve earned the Great Place to Work certification for 6 years running!

Weโ€™re looking to expand our team with passionate individuals who want to learn, play, and grow with us. Ready for a new challenge?

Summary of Position

As a key member of the Market Intelligence team, this role supports the development and leads execution of data-driven marketing strategies aimed at increasing acquisition and engagement of Asian American gamers. This role bridges data-driven consumer insights with actionable marketing execution, ensuring campaigns effectively resonate with Asian American gamers and align with broader business objectives.

This individual will identify Asian American market opportunities, analyze consumer behavior, evaluate campaign effectiveness, lead go-to-market campaign planning and execution, partner with agencies, and cross-functionally with marketing, product, content, and leadership teams to shape strategic initiatives.

We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Asian American Understanding & Strategy Development:
    • Build a specialized roadmap of the platforms and social ecosystems unique to Asian American gamers (e.g., specialized Discord servers, platform-specific sub-communities, or culturally specific apps).
    • Execute "test-and-learn" media strategies to identify which specific platforms and messaging styles yield the highest acquisition for Asian American gamers compared to general market channels.
    • Direct and challenge agency partners to move beyond "standard" media strategies, instead uncovering high-impact, niche opportunities for deep cultural resonance among Asian American gamers.
    • Convert campaign data and "trial-and-error" learnings into go-to-market frameworks that define exactly how, where, and when to reach Asian American gamers most effectively
  • Campaign Execution & Performance Optimization:
    • Lead the execution of social and digital campaigns, using A/B testing to determine which creative hooks and cultural nuances drive the strongest engagement among Asian American gamers.
    • Monitor KPIs across social, community, and paid media channels to "course-correct" in real-time, refining the teamโ€™s ability to find and convert the Asian American gamer.
    • Evaluate campaign success by isolating channel and creative effectiveness, documenting specific "wins" in Asian American gamer-specific spaces that can be repeated for future launches.
    • Analyze dashboards to communicate performance trends and learnings about Asian American gamer media consumption to leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Serve as the strategic bridge for agencies and internal teams, ensuring that the way we talk to the Asian American gamers is authentic and avoids "one-size-fits-all" marketing.
    • Provide learnings and insights on Asian American gamer-specific media trends and platform shifts to ensure brand relevance.
    • Present findings that demonstrate the unique ROI of specialized Asian American gamer targeting, justifying the team's distinct focus through acquisition data.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing Strategy, Product Marketing and/or Brand Marketing roles.
  • Experience developing strategic go-to marketing initiatives based on audience insights in gaming.
  • Experience in navigating and utilizing Chinese social media ecosystems preferred (e.g. RedNote, Bilibili, WeChat, and Weibo).
  • Experience mentoring junior team members

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, or related field.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using consumer data, performance metrics, and research tools.
  • A demonstrated, sustained engagement with Korean or Chinese American communities and a nuanced understanding of their cultural, social, and consumer dynamics is strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Office & Google Suite experience (Required)
  • JIRA, Confluence, and/or other project management tools (Preferred)
  • Native-level fluency in Korean or Chinese (reading and writing) (Required)
  • Strong familiarity with MapleStory preferred

Management has the right to add or change duties and job requirements at any time.
