CBN News – Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an experienced Senior News Reporter to research, report, write, produce, and deliver compelling news coverage for television and digital platforms. This seasoned journalist will develop impactful stories, conduct on-location interviews, cover domestic and international events, and serve as a fill-in anchor for CBN News broadcasts and The 700 Club while helping inform and inspire audiences around the world. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to CBN’s Biblical mission to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 annually. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on a combination of education, relevant experience, and demonstrated skills aligned with the role requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of domestic and international current events, geopolitics, humanitarian issues, and Christian news.
  • Thorough understanding of broadcast journalism principles, newsroom operations, editorial standards, and television news production
  • Demonstrated ability to research, investigate, verify, and communicate complex news stories with accuracy, fairness, and clarity
  • Experience producing compelling television news packages, feature stories, documentaries, and special reports
  • Proficiency with professional non-linear editing software, newsroom systems, and digital media technologies
  • Excellent interviewing, storytelling, writing, and on-camera presentation skills
  • Ability to serve effectively as a fill-in television news anchor, demonstrating excellent on-camera presence, clear communication, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly during live broadcasts
  • Strong editorial judgment with a commitment to journalistic integrity and factual accuracy
  • Ability to perform effectively under deadline pressure in live television and breaking news environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across newsroom teams and with external contacts
  • Ability to mentor and encourage developing journalists while contributing positively to a collaborative newsroom environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
