Punchbowl News’ primary focus is breaking news about power, the nation’s political leadership and explaining to our audience of political junkies how Washington works. We produce (at least) three newsletters each day, a daily podcast, dozens of events and more across our growing product suite.

Job Summary: Punchbowl News is seeking an experienced Revenue Operations Manager to optimize both our direct ads and subscriptions sales processes, manage our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) infrastructure, and drive operational excellence across our revenue teams. This role is critical to scaling our sales teams and ensuring seamless coordination between our Ad Sales, Subscription Sales, Marketing, Product, Events, and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate will serve as the HubSpot CRM expert and process architect, building the reporting and operational infrastructure that powers our revenue growth.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner and administrator of our HubSpot CRM, ensuring data integrity, optimal configuration, and maximum adoption across teams.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) workflows to streamline deal execution and approval processes.
  • Build, maintain, and present comprehensive dashboards and insightful reports that provide actionable insights into sales performance, pipeline health, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Develop and present custom reporting solutions for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support data-driven decision making.
  • Design, document, and train teams to execute scalable sales processes that support business growth while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the sales cycle and implement solutions to improve conversion rates and deal velocity.
  • Train sales team members on CRM best practices, new tools, and process changes.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize our sales technology stack to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain sales playbooks, training materials, and best practice documentation.
  • Accurately document processes and maintain detailed system documentation in a timely manner.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or a similar role.
  • Proven expertise with CRMs (ideally HubSpot), including advanced features like workflows, custom properties, and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing CPQ tools (e.g., HubSpot Commerce, DealHub, Salesforce CPQ, or similar).
  • Strong track record of building reports and dashboards that drive business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in CRM administration and data management.
  • Expert-level skills in data analysis and visualization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a process-oriented mindset.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments and influence without direct authority.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and operational excellence.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with additional tools in the sales tech stack (e.g., Chargebee - or other subscription management tools, Outreach, Gong - or other Sales call tracking software, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Zoom Info, etc) is a plus.


Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the role’s scope, as well as the candidate’s experience and relevant skills.
