JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Commerce Editor will serve as the semi-final editorial gatekeeper for all FOX News Deals content, ensuring every piece is thoroughly top-edited before publication. As the last set of eyes before content is escalated to the Director of Commerce Content, this role requires exceptional speed, precision, and deep expertise in commerce editorial. This position reports to the Director of Commerce Content.
Beyond top-editing, the Senior Commerce Editor will manage a team of writers and support broader editorial initiatives, including top-of-funnel strategy, tentpole planning and execution, and cross-functional collaboration. This role also involves analyzing performance metrics, identifying trends, and presenting key insights to internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a senior-level copy editor and strong multitasker, able to balance hands-on editing, team leadership, and business support in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the highest editorial standards. This is an onsite position in NYC.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as editorial reviewer for all FOX News Deals content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, tone, and adherence to editorial and commerce best practices
  • Top-edit a high volume of content quickly and effectively before escalation to the Director of Commerce Content
  • Manage and mentor a team of writers, providing ongoing feedback, direction, and performance support
  • Assist in planning and executing tentpole commerce events (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday), including co-managing coverage during peak periods
  • Support top-of-funnel editorial initiatives to drive audience growth and revenue
  • Analyze content performance and surface key insights, trends, and optimization opportunities to internal stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with SEO, partnerships, and business teams to improve content performance
  • Contribute written content as needed, particularly during high-volume periods
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure content meets deadlines and workflows stay on track
  • Step in to support publishing workflows in the absence of the Production Editor
  • Act as a trusted resource and second-in-command to the Director of Commerce Content

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 7+ years of digital editorial experience, with a strong focus on commerce or service journalism
  • Extensive copy-editing experience, with a proven ability to edit quickly and accurately under tight deadlines
  • At least 3 years of experience managing writers or contributors in a fast-paced publishing environment
  • Strong understanding of commerce content strategy, affiliate revenue drivers, and editorial best practices
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and performance-driven content
  • Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Chartbeat) to inform decisions
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a CMS (e.g., WordPress or similar publishing platforms)
  • Experience working in a database like AirTable to manage content
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and workflows simultaneously

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-119,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
