Job description

Hoffman Construction is seeking a BIM Manager to serve as an integral member of the on-site BIM Department, providing essential leadership and support throughout the lifecycle of a hyper-scale data center construction project. Reporting to Hoffman's Program BIM Manager and project-level management teams, this role works closely with site leadership, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure BIM workflows are utilized effectively and efficiently across all project phases.

The BIM Manager will provide daily guidance and mentoring to project team members to uphold and optimize project-specific BIM standards and will work directly with Hoffman's IT and BIM Management teams on BIM process development, technology support, and training. 

This is a fully on-site position located in Amarillo, Texas.

Salary Range:  $110,000 - $150,000 + Per Diem & Incentives

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and supervise local BIM team in support of project delivery.
  • Represent Hoffman and the BIM department in client-facing meetings, demonstrating best practices in BIM and VDC.
  • Educate and assist the project team on software platforms and workflows utilized throughout the construction process.
  • Fluently read and interpret contract documents such as drawings and model-based deliverables.
  • Drive and manage implementation of BIM modeling and collaboration platforms: including Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, iConstruct, Dynamo, SketchUp, Newforma Konekt, Autodesk Forma (formerly known as ACC); across large-scale construction projects.
  • Collaborate with corporate IT and BIM staff to support, maintain, and develop company-wide BIM standards and 3D modeling tools.
  • Direct 4D model scheduling efforts, integrating 3D models with project schedules.
  • Establish early data exchange standards to optimize BIM utilization for quantity take-off, estimating, and related functions across all project phases.
  • Develop and maintain a project-wide BIM strategy grounded in the BIM Execution Plan and fully compliant with client requirements.
  • Establish and oversee 3D model exchange and coordination across all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor clash detection process, clash reporting, responsible party workflows, and the end-to-end IFF (Issue-for-Fabrication) sign-off process through to successful completion.
  • Ensure record model archival is maintained consistently throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leverage Newforma Konekt to support collaboration, issue tracking, and project coordination across teams.
  • Provide clear communication across verbal, written, and electronic channels. 

Professional Experience and Education:

  • At least six to eight (6-8) years' experience in architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry required.
  • Specific experience in industrial and/or advanced manufacturing projects is required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related industry preferred.

  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams), with a working understanding of computer network environments.
  • Proficient in project management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Experience administering and organizing Autodesk Forma (formerly known as ACC), and other common data environments.
  • Ability to successfully host, facilitate, and document BIM coordination meetings.
  • Trained in design document reading and specifications.
  • Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication preferred.
  • Experience working in or around data centers, semiconductor facilities, and/or advanced manufacturing environments preferred.

    • Must work in both office and active construction site environments, spending more than 50% of time stationary.

    • Must access all site areas and levels, including climbing stairs, ascending/descending ladders, and entering confined or underground spaces.

    • Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Strength & Dexterity

    • Must lift or manipulate up to 50 lbs to a height of three feet and carry or push it 50-100 feet. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required for examining project work. Constantly operates computers and standard office equipment.

  • Sensory

    • Vision: Close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required for both screen-based and outdoor environments.
    • Hearing: Must tolerate proximity to loud equipment; hearing protection required as needed. Regular communication with colleagues and customers in office, site, and digital meeting settings.
    • Speech: Must communicate plans, protocols, directives, and SOPs related to project scope clearly in English.
  • Transportation

    • Must hold a valid driver's license and safely operate a vehicle.

  • Cognitive

    • Must apply independent judgment, critical thinking, and organizational skills to analyze data, transcribe information, interpret printed and digital documents, and determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
