This Senior Product Development Engineer (Data Center) role for Prysmian will support the rapidly expanding data center market for Prysmian. The person in this role will understand market needs, connect customer demand with product capabilities, and lead the development of new product to address demand in this fastgrowing segment. The role includes attending data center conferences, interacting with customers and suppliers, gathering insights, driving discussions to define best products for data center application and connecting market needs with Prysmian solutions. This position requires someone who learns quickly, adapts to constant market changes, provides constant updates to keep the whole company on top of market changes, and brings strong experience in wire and cable product development. The role is everchanging, highly visible, and ideal for someone with both leadership experience and deep technical expertise.

Role Responsibilities

  • Attend industry conferences - Represent Prysmian interests at data center shows and events.

  • Engage with customers and suppliers - Gather information, understand needs, build strong relationship to influence the market decision makers.

  • Actively engage on cable specifications comities - Like UL, CSA, IEC, NEC and customer cable specification.

  • Connect market demand to product needs - Understand products, the market, and how to align both for new opportunities.

  • Lead new product development - Lead the definition and development processes of new products and solution for the data center segment.

  • Respond to market changes - Learn quickly and adjust to evolving customer and market needs.

  • Manage the full product lifecycle - From concept, design, trials, qualification, launch, and continuous performance and cost improvement.

  • Collaborate crossfunctionally - Work with internal teams, across multiple sites, to support data center and new product initiatives.

  • Travel to customer sites and events - Travel 20-30% as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials).

  • 5+ years of product development engineering experience - Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to technical product development projects, ideally involving complex engineered products with strict performance requirements.

  • Wire and cable industry experience - Direct background working with cable constructions, materials, standards, and manufacturing processes; familiarity with industry terminology and product lifecycles is essential.

  • Data center experience - Handson involvement with data center products, applications, or customer requirements, with an understanding of how cable solutions support data center infrastructure.

  • Experience with UL, CSA and NEC - Working knowledge of UL, CSA and NEC standards, testing requirements, and certification processes relevant to wire and cable products.

  • Experience with cable specifications - Ability to interpret, apply, and develop cable specifications, including performance criteria, materials, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week - This role requires consistent onsite presence to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and crossfunctional teams.

  • Leadership - Demonstrate the ability of influencing crossfunctional teams, customer, suppliers and standard comities as an individual contributor, guiding teams toward clear decisions in complex environments.

  • Ability to travel 20-30% - Travel to customer sites, conferences, and internal locations to support product development, customer discussions, and market engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of product development engineering experience - Extensive experience driving product development initiatives from concept through commercialization, ideally within a technical or industrial environment.

  • Data center product experience from a cable/wire perspective - Direct experience designing, developing, or supporting cable products specifically used in data center applications.

  • Leadership experience - Prior experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and influencing crossfunctional teams.

  • Experience attending data center shows - Familiarity with industry events, customer discussions, and marketfacing activities that support product strategy and opportunity identification, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Proactive and selfdirected - Able to identify actionable items, take initiative, and move work forward confidently without guidance from leadership.

  • Experience representing technical products externally.
