Job description

MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400+ strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.

Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA Denver, CO, and East Providence, RI

As Director of Product at MOO, you will guide and shape the overall product strategy and its implementation across various platforms and teams. This position is at the forefront of our physical product creation and launch processes, demanding a blend of tactical acumen, operational excellence and strategic foresight. You will primarily focus on streamlining product launch processes to grow our print and branded merchandise product range whilst enhancing operational workflows to improve efficiency and optimising shipping to drive initiatives aimed at reducing costs.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

  • Oversee product management across four product development teams working across two technology platforms, ensuring seamless product delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for our Order Fulfilment Network, Manufacturing and Shipping, as well as Customer Service domains.
  • These teams handle product onboarding, coordination with third party vendors and product launches.
  • Support the internal manufacturing team responsible for the evolution of our in house fulfilment and manufacturing systems.
  • Lead the Manufacturing and Shipping team on our existing platform, focusing on cost reduction across postage, labour and materials.
  • Create alignment with the Head of Product for eCommerce, working on customer experience to create and launch products quickly across various sales channels.

Product Strategy and Execution

  • Accountable for the successful execution of product launches, establishing them as a streamlined and efficient value stream.
  • Ensure integration and alignment of product data via the Product Information Management system and our fulfilment network across MOO.
  • Drive the transition from legacy to new platforms, facilitating the integration of internal manufacturing and Manufacturing and Shipping teams.

Operational Excellence

  • Enhance operational processes and reduce costs, particularly in shipping and product launch procedures.
  • Implement both in house and outsourced product development strategies, including drop shipping products globally.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with business teams across MOO to ensure product launches are fast, repeatable and self serve.
  • Coordinate with other technology teams to align product development with company technology infrastructure and strategic goals.

Goals & Expectations

  • Streamline the product launch process to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Drive the transition from legacy to new platforms, optimising team structures and processes.
  • Achieve significant cost reductions in manufacturing and shipping operations.
About You
  • Proven experience in product management, particularly in a technology driven e commerce environment.
  • Experience working in a role where your customers are internal stakeholders.
  • Experienced line manager of Product Managers, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor teams.
  • Deep understanding of operational processes, particularly in manufacturing, shipping, fulfilment or supply chain.
  • Experience in managing product launches and driving operational cost reductions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
