Job description

At IEM, they are committed to delivering exceptional quality service and exceeding customer expectations. They specialize in providing repair, rewinding, and machining services for electric motors, generators, pumps, and gearboxes. Their technicians have years of expertise, and every job goes through a multi-phase quality control process to ensure it meets and exceeds IEM and customer specifications before it leaves their facility.

What You'll Do:

  • Rewind AC motors (random/form wound), DC fields and armatures, wound rotors, alternators, and transformers
  • Accurately document winding data, measurements, and characteristics
  • Use proper insulation and varnishing techniques, including Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI)
  • Operate surge testers, core-loss testers, winding machines, and bake/burnout ovens
  • Perform core testing and electrical diagnostics throughout the repair process
  • Maintain high quality standards aligned with EASA guidelines
  • Support and mentor junior technicians as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience in motor rewinding (3โ€“5+ years preferred)
  • Experience working under a Class A winder is a plus
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL and DOT medical card preferred
  • Prior work in an EASA-accredited shop is highly desirable

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of electric motor components and winding practices
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documents
  • Skilled with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Comfortable using digital work order systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Safety-focused and organized

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks throughout the day
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Willingness to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise and machinery
