Job description

Primary Position Purpose:

The Software Engineer II role is responsible for building the tools that power our freight platform.  The Engineer II has a passion for tackling hard problems. A veteran who knows how to get things done and how-to future-proof our architecture and implementations to scale for years to come.  This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of all systems at U.S. Xpress.

Position Functions:

         Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.

         Own the development lifecycle with a focus on developing new features and functionalities for assigned software applications.

         Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables.

         Write high quality distributed system software.

         Work in an agile development environment, always working on the most important projects.

         Collaborate with other teams and across departments to deliver new features and products.
