8 Main is a 33 bed acuity adaptable step down/progressive care unit that specializes in Cardiac Care (post intervention care, dysrhythmias, heart failure, and cardiac conditions requiring monitoring), Renal Transplant (recipients, donors, and transplant rejection), and Vascular Surgery (amputation, revascularization, and bypass). Additionally, we frequently care for patients with other acute medical needs, including DKA, ETOH withdrawal, sepsis, respiratory illnesses, and others. 8Main is a great place to develop, or bolster, your nursing skills, examples include: hi-flow oxygen and respiratory management, management of multiple IV drips, telemetry, peritoneal dialysis, Glucostabilizer tool for continuous insulin drips, post PCI care, and others. Teamwork is the driving force for the unit, which has received the AACN Beacon Silver Award for Excellence in Nursing. We work to foster a culture that is inclusive and focused not only on high quality, safe, patient care, but also supporting and growing the practice and careers of those we work with.
Position Summary:
Registered Nurse, RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidenced based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse, RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.
What you will need:
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
  • Associate degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan
  • Experience as an RN required if new grad must apply to RN residency that takes place three times a year in February, June, August and October
