New Grad Program information

What is a new grad program?

A New Grad Program is a structured initiative offered by companies to recent college or university graduates. These programs are designed to help new graduates transition from academia to the professional world by providing training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in various departments. Participants often rotate through different roles to gain broad exposure and build essential skills. The goal is to prepare new grads for long-term success within the organization and help them identify potential career paths. New Grad Programs typically last from several months to two years, depending on the employer.

What can new graduates expect from the structure and support provided in a typical new grad program?

New Grad Programs are designed to ease the transition from academia to the professional world by offering structured onboarding, mentorship, and rotational assignments. You can expect to work closely with experienced professionals, participate in training sessions, and receive regular feedback to help accelerate your learning curve. These programs typically foster collaborative environments where new grads can network with peers and leaders, laying a strong foundation for long-term career growth within the company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a new grad program, and why are they important?

To thrive in a New Grad Program, you generally need a relevant academic degree, foundational knowledge in your field, and a strong willingness to learn. Familiarity with standard industry tools, productivity software, or basic certification (such as Excel, project management, or coding languages) is often expected. Initiative, adaptability, and communication skills set candidates apart by helping them integrate quickly and build professional relationships. These qualities are crucial for navigating the transition from academia to the workplace and for making a meaningful early impact.

Job description

Associate Dentist - Multi-Clinic Growth Opportunity

Downtown Vancouver, BC | Royal Centre Dental Group & Granville Station Dental

Open to New Grads & Dentists New to Practice

Are you a motivated new graduate or early-career dentist looking for more than just an associate position?

This is a unique opportunity to join two established downtown Vancouver practices with strong mentorship, long-term growth potential, and exposure to advanced dentistry in a highly supportive environment.

You'll work alongside experienced clinicians, build confidence across multiple practice settings, and develop the skills needed to grow into a successful long-term provider - with future partnership potential for the right individual.

The Opportunity

This role is structured across two complementary downtown Vancouver clinics:

Mondays & Tuesdays - Royal Centre Dental Group Vancouver

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Royal Centre Dental Group is a large, modern, high-volume practice with a strong reputation for patient care and advanced dentistry. The clinic has been serving the community for more than 25 years and welcomes a significant volume of new patients every month.

This environment is ideal for building speed, confidence, and strong bread-and-butter dentistry skills while learning comprehensive treatment planning in a busy and collaborative setting.

What you'll find at Royal Centre:

  • Large established patient base
  • Strong new patient flow
  • Modern digital workflows and advanced technology
  • Exposure to cosmetic, restorative, implant, laser, and emergency dentistry
  • Mentorship from highly experienced clinicians
  • Opportunity to build production quickly

The clinic is known for investing heavily in continuing education and technology while maintaining a welcoming, patient-focused culture.

Thursdays - Granville Station Dental Centre

Granville Station Dental offers a different type of opportunity - one focused on growth, mentorship, and long-term practice development.

Conveniently located steps from transit in downtown Vancouver, the clinic provides comprehensive dentistry with strong Invisalign and cosmetic treatment demand.

This role is ideal for someone entrepreneurial who wants to help grow a practice while receiving mentorship from senior clinicians with extensive experience building successful practices.

What makes Granville Station unique:

  • Opportunity to help grow and shape the practice
  • Exposure to Invisalign and higher-value treatment planning
  • In-house specialty collaboration
  • Supportive environment for developing confidence and communication skills
  • Strong mentorship in practice growth and patient relationship building

The clinic utilizes digital scanning technology and modern workflows to support comprehensive patient care.

Mentorship & Growth

One of the biggest highlights of this opportunity is mentorship.

You'll work closely with experienced clinicians, including Dr. Ken Phillips, who has built multiple successful Vancouver practices and has extensive experience mentoring dentists early in their careers.

This is an excellent fit for someone who:

  • Wants hands-on mentorship
  • Is eager to grow clinically and professionally
  • Has an interest in Invisalign, implants, or comprehensive dentistry
  • Is motivated to eventually step into leadership or partnership opportunities

New grads and dentists newer to practice are strongly encouraged to apply.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who is:

  • Positive, coachable, and growth-minded
  • Comfortable building relationships with patients
  • Interested in long-term development
  • Excited about mentorship and continuous learning
  • Entrepreneurial and motivated to grow with the practices

This opportunity is less about stepping into a fully saturated schedule immediately and more about building something meaningful with strong support and long-term upside.

Why Downtown Vancouver?

  • Work in two highly accessible downtown locations
  • Build experience across different practice styles and patient populations
  • Live and work in one of Canada's most vibrant urban centres
  • Excellent transit access and surrounding amenities
