Job Summary

Are you passionate about building reliable and secure network infrastructure? Acuity Inc is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on firewall administration and a security mindset to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to design, secure, deploy, scale, and maintain highly available network infrastructure both on site as well as in the cloud with Azure. 

Our team's focus is on quantifying and improving the availability, reliability, security, and performance of our products and services. You'll collaborate closely with LAN admins and security teams to achieve these goals.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our IT infrastructure and cloud applications. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Building site-to-site VPN tunnels 
  • Maintaining a secure limited access firewall rule base 
  • Building network configurations and connections across LAN and WAN. 
  • Troubleshooting network problems. 
  • IP address allocation and maintenance to avoid overlaps. 
  • Maintaining firmware on switches, APs, load balancers and other devices. 
  • Network segmentation. 
  • Voice and Call Center system configuration. 
  • Leading incident resolution efforts and postmortems. 
  • Designing and implementing monitoring and automation tools. 
  • A system operations mindset focused on maintaining uptime and addressing disruptions. 
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with other engineering teams. 
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Azure. 
  • Experience with web networking, TLS, SSL certificate management, reverse proxies, and load balancing. 
  • Excellent written communication skills. 
  • A passion for solving complex problems and continuous improvement. 
  • Some travel may be required 
Skills and Minimum Experience Required

7+ years of experience in a similar role. 

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • In depth experience with firewall administration, VPN tunnels, and multi-ISP routing  
  • Network access control (NAC) systems  
  • Network switch and AP hardware configuration and installation 
  • Network design, implementation and troubleshooting. 
  • Network segmentation that includes security limits with ACLs, NACs, and firewalls. 
  • Wireless network security with 802.1x and certificate authentication. 
  • WAF experience with DDoS and Bot protections 
  • Incident response and/or incident management experience. 
  • Experience with highly available distributed systems. 
  • Experience with OT (Operational Technology) network segmentation is a plus 
  • Experience defining SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform. 

The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $164,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
