Job Description:

The Director, Value and Access, Marketing & Strategy will be aligned to the Neuroscience Business Unit and has accountability for developing, refining and executing innovative, integrated programs across various channels at the time of launches and beyond to drive sustained brand growth. Key components of this role will include value proposition development, creation of Value & Access (V&A) marketing materials, agency management, budget management, competitive strategy, annual business and strategic plans, quarterly business reviews with executive leadership, message development and execution. It will require collaboration with V&A partners, vendors and agencies to ensure strategies and tactics are well integrated across brand campaigns and meet brand priorities. The role will also lead V&A Enterprise Marketing, driving consistency with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Director, V&A, Marketing & Strategy reports to the Head of V&A Strategy & Operations. In partnership with the V&A Leadership Team, this person helps to define objectives for the V&A organization, shape the culture, and drive effective alignment within the V&A Business Unit.

This role requires active engagement with senior leaders, cross-functional partners and the entire V&A team to communicate opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness and to establish and administer key business processes.

Main Responsibilities

V&A Neuroscience Marketing (70% of the role)

  • Determine marketing resource needs for all V&A verticals (Corporate Accounts, National and Regional Accounts, Trade, Field Reimbursement, Pricing & Contracting and Patient Services) within the Neuroscience Business Unit
  • Develop value propositions for formulary decision makers (Payers, PBMs, GPOs, Institutions) within the BU
  • Serve as one of 3M (Marketing, Medical, Market Access) leaders of US Brand Team(s) for each brand within the Neuroscience Business Unit, representing Value & Access
  • Serve as member of the Neuroscience Business Unit Leadership Team (NULT), representing Value & Access and demonstrating subject matter expertise across all V&A verticals
  • Lead Value & Access launch planning for any current/future launches within the Business Unit
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Brand teams to determine access marketing resources needs for Business Unit
  • Co-Design, with V&A Groups and considering brand priorities, the strategic priorities for V&A resources for each brand with the Business Unit
  • Represent the V&A team in key brand activities including annual planning, pull-through, product launch, training, forecasting, etc.
  • Work with brand team and vendors to review and create pieces aligned with the strategy, prioritizing strategic brands, and to streamline currently used V&A tools
  • Shepperd resources through the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) process
  • Manage critical business planning frameworks and activities, such as budget management, business reviews, business unit executive meeting content, senior leadership briefings and presentations, etc.

V&A Enterprise Marketing (30% of the role)

  • Lead "above brand" initiatives such as the V&A Corporate overview presentation, V&A capabilities presentation, payer pull-through process, and My Ipsen V&A website
  • Lead V&A Team Presentations (design and build) - including but not limited to: National Field Meeting, V&A POA Meetings and National V&A call presentations

HOW - Knowledge & Expertise

  • At least 8 -10 years of experience with a focus on payer marketing & reimbursement tools within biopharma
  • Experience working within a competitive space
  • Previous experience working with agencies on creation of materials
  • Previous experience working with promotional material review committees (legal, regulatory, medical) and managing new product launch or label expansion
  • Strong project management skills, setting and executing against deadlines and delivering on commitments
  • Experience with both Pharmacy and Medical benefit products, with knowledge of Rare Disease, Oncology and Neurology preferred - strong preference for neurotoxin and/or migraine experience
  • Thorough understanding of the commercialization of biopharmaceuticals, including brand management, sales planning and execution, market access, and regulatory environments
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding quantitative and qualitative targets
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders across commercial and internal functions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work arrangement including in-office and remote based working from our Cambridge, MA office 3 days per week on average

  • BA/BS is required

  • MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field is strongly preferred

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $190,500 - $260,000

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.

This job is eligible to participate in our incentive compensation program as well as our long-term incentives program.
