Job description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and UMPhysicians is recruiting a full-time general neurologist for M Health Fairview - Woodbury Neurology clinic. Highly qualified candidates who are committed to excellence in patient care, possess strong clinical skills and have an interest in clinical investigation and education are encouraged to apply.

Position Highlights:

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will provide outpatient general neurology services in the community clinics with some optional time on the University campus if desired.
  • Minimal inpatient coverage expected as the health system invests in growing a neurohospitalist pool. No acute stroke call.
  • Opportunities to perform EMG, read EEG, inject botulinum toxins if candidate meets training criteria
  • Opportunities to supervise and train medical students and residents if desired
  • Opportunity to promote through a clinical pathway in academic setting (no publication or research funding requirements)
  • Salaried position with ability to earn bonus stipend

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program and Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
  • Ability to obtain and / or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills

Pay and Benefits:

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $218,757 - $344,326 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
