Neurofeedback Technology focuses on operating and managing neurofeedback equipment, while Neurofeedback Therapists apply these techniques in clinical settings to help clients improve mental health. Both roles are essential and often overlap, but they differ mainly in responsibilities and required credentials.

What does a neurofeedback technician do?

A neurofeedback technician operates neurofeedback equipment to monitor and train clients' brain activity, helping improve mental health conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, or stress. They prepare clients, explain procedures, and record data for analysis, often working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Certification in neurofeedback techniques and knowledge of EEG technology are typically required.

How much do neurofeedback clinicians make?

Neurofeedback clinicians typically earn between $40,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and whether they work independently or for a clinic. Salaries can increase with advanced certifications and a strong client base, and some clinicians supplement income through workshops or consulting.

Who makes more, EKG tech or EEG tech?

Neurofeedback technicians, including those working with EEG technology, generally earn similar salaries to EKG technicians, as both roles involve operating medical monitoring equipment. Salary differences depend on experience, certifications, and work setting, but overall, earnings are comparable within the healthcare technology field.

What degree do you need to do neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback practitioners typically need at least a bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. Many professionals pursue additional certification in neurofeedback through specialized training programs to gain practical skills and meet industry standards.
