Description

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer for a 6-month contract role supporting the network team. The contractor will assist with day-to-day network operations, including troubleshooting tickets, supporting switches, and general network support tasks. The goal of the role is to reduce the operational workload for senior engineers so they can focus on project-based initiatives.

The environment is primarily Cisco-based, including switching, routing, and wireless infrastructure. The team also uses automation scripts for daily support activities, and while prior automation experience is not required, the candidate will have opportunities to learn Python-based automation on the job.

The ideal candidate is junior-level and motivated to gain hands-on enterprise networking experience. Contractors are treated like full-time employees and integrated fully into the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Network & Security Lifecycle: Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of complex multi-site environments, including firewall security management, access permissions, and documentation of network topologies.

· Operational Maintenance & Support: Manage day-to-day reliability through 24/7 troubleshooting, ticket resolution, and non-disruptive system upgrades or expansions.

· Specialized Infrastructure Management: Oversee advanced Cisco technologies (ISE, DNAC, CUCM/UCCE), SIP/Telecom routing, and wireless security (RADIUS, 802.1x) across various physical and virtual media.
