Job Description
The Inventory/Purchasing Assistant plays a key role in supporting purchasing, inventory accuracy, and material availability to ensure smooth production operations. This position works closely with vendors, production, and warehouse teams to monitor inventory levels, process purchase orders, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while delivering excellent internal customer service.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing materials, supplies, and components to support production schedules.
  • Create, update, and track purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, order status, delivery schedules, and inventory needs.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure timely receipt and availability of materials.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, supply chain, or a related administrative role preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or inventory management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build vendor relationships.
