Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Orlando, FL. The work schedule is 4 days Monday -Thursday (10-hour shift).
Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support the administration, optimization, and modernization of enterprise network infrastructure. This role will focus on maintaining high availability, performance, and security across a complex environment, while contributing to data center and software-defined networking initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Support:
* Administer and support day-to-day network operations across LAN/WAN environments
* Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability
* Troubleshoot routing, switching, VPN, firewall, and connectivity issues
* Support patching, upgrades, and configuration management of network devices
Infrastructure & Engineering:
* Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
* Support network segmentation, access controls, and firewall rule management
* Assist with implementation of wireless and remote access solutions
* Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation
Data Center & SDN:
* Support deployment and management of software-defined networking (SDN) solutions
* Work with data center technologies including hyperconverged and virtualized platforms
* Assist with integration of network infrastructure into broader enterprise systems
* Participate in infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts
Advanced Networking (Preferred Focus):
* Support or contribute to Cisco ACI environments and policy-based networking
* Assist with hyperconverged infrastructure platforms (e.g., VxRail or similar)
* Help design and maintain scalable, flexible network architectures
Security & Collaboration:
* Implement and maintain network security best practices
* Support VPN access, segmentation, and compliance requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5+ years of network engineering or administration experience
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and subnetting
* Hands-on troubleshooting experience across enterprise environments
* Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies
* Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools
* Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
* Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, F5, or similar platforms
* Exposure to Cisco ACI, SDN, or intent-based networking
* Experience with hyperconverged or virtualized infrastructure (e.g., VMware, VxRail)
* SD-WAN or wireless networking experience
* VoIP or unified communications exposure
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
