Barbaricum is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator I (Network and Computer Systems Administrator) to support the administration, maintenance, and operation of enterprise IT infrastructure for Department of Defense (DoD) mission and training environments. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure support across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments.

The Computer Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining system performance, supporting infrastructure monitoring activities, and ensuring the availability and security of mission-critical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to support infrastructure operations, technology integration, and multidomain training activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments supporting mission and training operations.
  • Administer physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure system availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage user accounts, system access, operating system configurations, and routine system maintenance activities.
  • Monitor system health, network performance, and infrastructure components to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Support virtualization platforms, including VMware, KVM, and Xen, to maintain efficient and scalable computing environments.
  • Assist with system deployments, upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes across enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to support infrastructure operations and technology integration efforts.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting activities to ensure mission readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable DoD standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT II requirements.
  • Minimum 2yrs experience working with computer systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows enterprise and Linux server / operating systems engineering, and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud, physical, and virtual network architect, engineering, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Expertise with hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, and Xen
