What is a Network Strategy role?

A Network Strategy role involves developing and optimizing an organization's network infrastructure and connectivity to support business objectives. Professionals in this position analyze network performance, forecast future needs, and design strategic plans for technology upgrades, expansion, or integration. They work closely with IT, operations, and business leaders to ensure the network aligns with company growth and technological trends. Their responsibilities may also include evaluating emerging technologies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective network solutions.

How does a Network Strategy professional typically collaborate with other departments to implement network improvements?

Network Strategy professionals work closely with various teams, such as IT operations, security, finance, and business development, to ensure network upgrades align with organizational goals. They often facilitate cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and assess budget impacts. This collaborative approach helps deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective network solutions across the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Network Strategy, and why are they important?

To thrive in Network Strategy, you need a strong background in telecommunications, data networking, and business analysis, often supported by a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication are critical soft skills for collaborating across technical and business teams. These skills ensure the ability to design scalable networks, optimize performance, and align technology investments with organizational goals.

Job description

Role Context

InvestCloud is a private-equity backed platform business supporting over $6 trillion of assets globally, with deep, long-standing relationships across the asset and wealth management ecosystem. The firm works with many of the world's largest wealth managers and asset managers, operating at true institutional scale.

Private markets are rapidly becoming a core part of wealth portfolios - but the industry infrastructure has not kept pace.

Most wealth managers still rely on manual processes, fragmented data, bespoke integrations, and operational workarounds to deliver private market exposure. This fundamentally limits scale, degrades client experience, and slows advisor adoption.

InvestCloud's Private Markets Network (PMN) is designed to change that.

PMN is a network-level execution and processing platform that enables private market investments to be delivered at managed-account scale, with the same operational discipline, control framework, and integration model that wealth managers expect in public markets. PMN underpins InvestCloud's private markets account capabilities and sits at the intersection of:

  • wealth managers
  • private market asset managers
  • custodians and fund administrators
  • platform and market infrastructure

This role sits at the centre of that transformation, with direct exposure to both the buy-side and sell-side of the private markets ecosystem - and the opportunity to influence how private markets scale across some of the largest platforms in the industry.

Purpose of the Role

The Strategy and Execution Manager will play a critical role in shaping how PMN is built, positioned, and adopted by the market. *InvestCloud is hiring 2 FTEs, at the Lead and Manager levels.ย

This is not a passive enablement role.

The role actively:

  • ย shapes PMNโ€™s product and network strategy
  • ย works directly with the market to unlock private markets at scale
  • ย translates real-world adoption constraints into product, rule, and operating model decisions

You will work as a close right-hand to PMN leadership, operating at the intersection of product strategy, market engagement, and execution.

What Youโ€™ll Actually Be Doing

This role is broad by design. On any given week, you might be:

  • ย Working with a major wealth manager to understand what really blocks them from scaling private markets in managed accounts.
  • ย Engaging with private market asset managers to understand product, operational, and distribution constraints.
  • ย Helping define how PMNโ€™s rules, workflows, or data models need to evolve to remove those blockers.
  • ย Shaping adoption playbooks that determine how the market experiences PMN.
  • ย Turning messy client conversations into clear product and network strategy input.
  • ย Helping PMN leadership decide what matters next โ€” and what doesnโ€™t.

Key Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Unlock

  • Work directly with PMN leadership to shape PMN's market strategy and adoption approach across both wealth and asset managers.
  • Engage with wealth managers to understand adoption constraints across operating model, governance, data, technology, and servicing.
  • Engage with private market asset managers to understand product, operational, and distribution constraints that limit their ability to scale through wealth channels.
  • Help define what it means for both wealth managers and asset managers to be "PMN-ready" โ€” and how to get them there.
  • Translate market reality from both sides of the network into clear strategic and product implications.

Product Strategy & Market Translation

  • ย Act as a bridge between the wealth market and PMN product teams.
  • ย Influence PMN product direction by grounding decisions in real-world adoption challenges.
  • ย Help shape PMN rules, workflows, and operating model assumptions.
  • ย Ensure the product roadmap reflects what will actually unlock scale in wealth.

Go-To-Market Strategy & Execution Support

  • ย Support PMN go-to-market positioning and narratives with real market insight.
  • ย Help align PMN sales motions to reduce friction and misalignment.
  • ย Prepare materials and analysis for senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • ย Take ownership of defined PMN initiatives end-to-end.

Adoption, Onboarding & Enablement

  • ย Support the creation of wealth and asset manager readiness frameworks, onboarding playbooks, and adoption guides.
  • ย Work closely with the team to align PMN onboarding expectations.
  • ย Help identify and resolve adoption risks early, before they become delivery issues.

Key Stakeholders

  • ย PMN Leadership
  • ย InvestCloud Leadership
  • ย Product & Delivery Teams
  • ย PMN Product & Engineering
  • ย Wealth manager investment, platform, operations, and program teams
  • ย Private market asset managers
  • ย Private market service providers

Essential Skills & Experience

  • ย 4- 5 years experience in management consulting, internal strategy or change roles, or in product-and market-facing roles within wealth management, asset management fintech, or financial market infrastructure.
  • ย Demonstrated ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into clear insights, recommendations, and actions.
  • ย Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to move fluently between big-picture framing and detailed execution.
  • ย Comfortable operating in fast-moving, uncertain environments, with limited precedent or playbooks.
  • ย Able to engage credibly and confidently with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • ย Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, high-quality materials for senior audiences.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • ย Exposure to private markets, alternatives, or complex investment products (e.g. private equity, private credit, real assets, semi-liquid funds).
  • ย Experience working on or alongside investment platforms, managed accounts, or market infrastructure.
  • ย Prior experience acting as a bridge between product, technology, and business teams.
  • ย Familiarity with operating model design, onboarding, or adoption frameworks in financial services.
  • ย Understanding of the wealth management distribution model and the practical constraints faced by advisors and operations teams.

Personal Attributes

  • ย Curious, commercially minded, and outcome-driven.
  • ย Low ego, high ownership.
  • ย Energised by building new platforms rather than optimising mature ones.
  • ย Enjoys being close to decision-making and market reality.

Why This Role Is Different

This role offers:

  • ย a front-row seat in reshaping how private markets scale into wealth
  • ย the opportunity to influence product strategy through real market engagement
  • ย access to leading private market asset managers and wealth firms
  • ย direct exposure to a private-equity backed platform business
  • ย You wonโ€™t be handed a playbook.
  • ย Youโ€™ll help define the category.
