Network Operations Supervisor/Manager (NOC)
Location: Waynesboro, VA
3rd shift, Begin Sunday- Thursday.
This position provides supervisor support of the TDM, SONET, DWDM and IP Networks. The Supervisor will have Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the functional areas of the organization. The position may perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments. This position will act as shift leader with supervisor responsibility.
Primary Duties:
• Manage NOC Analysts I, II, II and NOC Engineer - I, II in technical network support and outage/incident restoration.
• Provide point of Escalation for Customer and employees.
• Maintain Command and Control of all service/network restoration.
• Ensures proper ticket handling steps are followed, to include higher level management notification and escalation.
• Prepares outage reports to include root causes and action plans for future prevention.
• Develops employee skills and expertise; maintains a highly motivated, well-trained, innovative, and empowered workforce
• Complies and completes Reason for Outage (RFO) documents for customer consumption, utilizing ticket work logs and technical input from NOC Engineer.
• Performs analysis and studies to determine process improvement opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Strong work ethic and multi-tasking ability
• Set and communicate departmental goals that advance overall Company objectives.
• Manage department resources and projects effectively.
• Work with Human Resources to hire and train qualified productive employees.
• Lead, motivate, and coach employees to ensure satisfactory performance.
• Provide feedback and appraise employee performance using Company performance appraisal tools and programs.
• Conduct disciplinary actions as necessary according to Company guidelines.
• Work with Human Resources to prevent discriminatory and illegal employment practices in the workplace.
• Perform On -Call duties as necessary.
Requirements:
• College degree in Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years' professional level experience
• 7+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.
We are looking for a person with the following working experience:
Ethernet IP, DWDM, Sonet, experience with configurations, working in and out of gear.
