Summary

Oversee Durable Medical Equipment Specialist activities and initiatives for a major or multiple sites, ensuring process are followed to provide quality care to the patient's we serve.

Job Description

Responsible for providing administrative leadership and expertise. Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the DME industry, including the intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management. Demonstrate excellent skills in customer service, enthusiasm, compassion, teamwork and empathy. Display the ability to take initiative.Collaborate with local network operations and other teams to ensure proper utilization of resources and achievement of service level and financial objectives. Allocate resources for staff sharing, workload balancing, and short-term forecasting. Assist in developing strategic Durable Medical Equipment Specialist support initiatives.Responsible for interviewing, hiring, continuing education, and counseling employees. Perform with a high level of customer service skills on all support and training requirements. Promote a culture of learning. Serve as a resource for employees, and in-house departments regarding products and functions. Organize and coordinate meetings and conferences. Deliver corrective feedback in a manner that inspires accountability and self-redirection. Maintain and expand professional and position development by keeping current on new technology, attending local and enterprise development meetings when necessary, and participating in educational offerings for personal growth.

Qualifications

High school diploma required. Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Must have 3 years' experience working in applicable field. Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications. Detail oriented, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to follow through to the end. Advanced knowledge of the medical field, with prior experience in home medical equipment is required. Previous experience in managing or supervising others preferred.
CDME (Certified Durable Medical Equipment) certification through the BOC is preferred. When applicable, the employee must have a current valid driver's license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
