Job Description
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Finance Operations Supervisor for our Data Centers Solutions group to provide accounting, analysis, and financial support to the project teams. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages a team of Project Accountants
  • Reviews contracts and understands contract terms, prepare summaries of key contract terms
  • Administration of project set-ups, ensuring conformity to the contract terms
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly project billings, in accordance with contractual requirements for both cost based and fixed price contracts:
    • Ensure that all costs are billed on a timely basis
    • Resolve customer or project team billing issues as they arise
    • Assist group leadership in the timely collection of contract billings
    • Follow up with customer contacts as requested and monitor overall cash position of projects to ensure favorable cash flow
  • Perform and review budget allocations
  • Provide assistance to project cost functions
  • Support project teams in developing Project Financial Projections (PFP)
  • Work with Accounts Payable to set up new vendors, coordinate payments, or daily check issuances
  • Set up new subcontracts, process subcontractor pay applications
  • Supervise the accurate and timely deployment of: project billing process, subcontractor certified payroll reports, and specialized reporting as requested
  • Support collections of receivables
  • Collect sales and use tax information
  • Support the billing, reporting, and inventory processes for equipment operations
  • Provide support for project audits
  • Preparation of the monthly financial reports
  • Lead and actively participate in project financial reviews for operating groups, providing insights and recommendations to project leadership, operating group leadership, and business partners.
  • Review and understanding of Job Schedule and Cash Position
  • Support percentage-of-completion processes, including revenue recognition scenarios
  • Participate in and lead assigned initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration or related field. Or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience
  • Previous experience with large ERP System
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to understand complex construction business concepts
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple projects at a time
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to internal and external customers
  • Leadership skills; ability to set direction and implement changes across a team
  • Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

The base pay range for this role is $103,200 - $154,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
