Qualifications

Monitors reliability of network infrastructure and operating systems
on multiple platforms. Diagnoses and repairs problems. Usually requires a
2 year degree. 1-5 years of experience
Entry level scripting
experience in JavaScript, Perl, Python, or any scripting language,
developing ad hoc reports, or network maintenance tools.a
Specialist,
Network Operations will provide 24x7 network management and analysis
for theย  FTTP voice and data network. Responsibilities include but are
not limited to:
ย Evaluation of FTTP network performance data
Trouble ticket management, OASIS flash management, & processing escalations
Identifying initial fault isolation including triage and technical support to CO and outside plant technicians
ย Participates
in staffing a 24 hour FTTP Network Management Center to ensureย 
customer satisfaction, network quality, and cost goals are met
ย Resolves network problems and outages and takes actions to improve network performance
ย Interact with National Operations, Network Operations and National Services to restore customer impacting conditions
The
candidate must be able to work any of the three shifts and rotate based
on needs of the business. Weekends, holidays, and overnight work may be
required. The candidate will demonstrate knowledge of TDM and VOIP
voice technologies, data related technologies including VOIP, broadband
networking, gigabit networking, and VOD technologies. Knowledge of basic
routing protocols and internal system tools (vRepair, IVAPP, TACACS,
INMS, OASIS, & MASTARS) is highly desired.

Must have Entry
level scripting experience in JavaScript, Perl, Python, or any
scripting language, developing ad hoc reports, or network maintenance
tools
