Job Description
Under general supervision, the candidate should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by users of various application platforms to include, server & desktop applications, networking and perimeter security appliances, and other technologies; troubleshoot and solve LAN/WAN problems; provide technical support to end-users regarding hardware and software; provides technical expertise to clients regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware; train clients in various software applications and network-related procedures; and perform related work as required.
Qualifications
Education :
• Certificate or Associate's degree with at least two years of coursework in computer sciences.
• One (1) year in a Service Desk/Call Center or system administration (e.g., Network, Windows) role
Required Skills and Experience:
• Act as first responder to infrastructure trouble-tickets including: LAN/WAN switching routing, wireless network, server, firewall, IDS, and IPS issues.
• Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance on Windows and Linux servers, Security Appliances, Network devices, and SIEM solutions
• Technicians must have the product knowledge and technical skills to install and configure network/security components and operating systems.
• Maintain enterprise monitoring Platform
• Assist with documenting configurations and maintaining enterprise repository of systems documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills including effective team communication and collaboration
• Strong technical documentation skills required
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, highly communicative team environment
• Self-starter who is able to work with little direct supervision and oversight while making consistent progress on project deliverables
• Be able to explain design decisions clearly and logically to colleagues, peers, and customers
