About the Position

Conduit Power is on a path to supplement our Nation’s power generation system with reliable and dispatchable generation in ways that reduces carbon footprint and accelerates the transition to clean, renewable energy.

Conduit Power is seeking an Energy Optimization Associate to join our Market Operations team within the Network Operations Center (NOC) on a contract-to-hire basis. The individual will support the optimization and management of our Distributed Generation Resource portfolio, with responsibility for day-to-day operational activities across Conduit’s generation assets. This role emphasizes best practices in compliance, scheduling, decision-making, and energy optimization, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor, dispatch, and optimize Conduit’s generation assets in real time within a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC), taking ownership of assigned systems and operating within established protocols.

• Review DRUC and market awards and support portfolio balancing efforts, making informed adjustments under guidance while developing independent decision-making capability.

• Actively monitor SCADA systems, telemetry, and alarms, identify abnormal conditions, and perform initial troubleshooting, escalating issues as appropriate.

• Coordinate with Field Operations to support planned and unplanned events, including outages, maintenance, and system contingencies, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

• Execute responsibilities in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements (ERCOT, PUCT, and other authorities), demonstrating growing autonomy and accountability.

• Support real-time operational and market activities, including power scheduling and participation in power markets, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to timelines.

• Analyze operational data and trends to support improved asset performance and contribute to more effective decision-making.

• Communicate effectively with ISOs, internal stakeholders, and external partners, particularly during time-sensitive operational events.

• Operate independently during assigned shifts in a 24-hour environment (including nights, weekends, and holidays), ensuring thorough shift handoffs and documentation.

• Continuously build knowledge of power markets, systems, and regulatory frameworks, working toward full operator competency and alignment with Conduit’s QSE performance standards.

• Contribute to the improvement of system operations and SOPs, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and overall NOC efficiency.


Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience in power generation, grid operations, or energy markets.

• Experience with SCADA systems in a real-time operations environment, including monitoring, interpreting system data, responding to alarms, and supporting initial troubleshooting and escalation

of operational issues.

• Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts that also include Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.

• Power industry/engineering/finance/risk experience is a plus.

• Experience with electrical system operations, power scheduling, knowledge of power flows, and Distributed Generation Resource technologies are a plus.

• High comfort level to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations and self-manage time.

• Must be able to multi-task and maintain a high level of performance.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility to relocate to temporary offices as needed.

• A strong individual performer that is always willing to learn and excel in a team environment.

• Proficient using Excel and other apps.
