We partner with private, public, and non-profit clients to provide day-to-day fleet management, marketing, and customer service support for a wide array of mobility programs. As the operator of Bike Share Toronto, Shift Transit offers 24/7 convenient access to over 9,000+ bikes and 700+ stations across Toronto’s vast biking network that cover more than 200 square kilometres across the City of Toronto. Shift Transit, with its partner PBSC Urban Solutions, has years of experience planning, implementing, and operating bike-sharing programs across North America. Through careful planning and collaboration with our clients in each city, we take pride in delivering an excellent experience to both our riders and our clients.

Our Field Mobility Associates make sure our bikes are in the right place at the right time. Our associates work independently or with others under the guidance of the Field Operations team. We are currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the Field Mobility Associate position*. The associate duties involve:


  • Perform a pre and post inspection of the rebalancing vehicle, address any issues with the Field Operations team.
  • Follow instructions and respond to dispatch effectively.
  • Retrieve inoperative bicycles by direction or via inoperative bicycle software.
  • Inspect docking stations for operability, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Maintain the area around bike stations as needed to allow members to use the service seamlessly.
  • Set the highest standards when interacting with current and potential customers.
  • Collaborate with the Field Operations team to constantly improve the system, and escalate any issues to dispatch.
  • Have ability to perform light maintenance functions such as refilling receipt paper, graffiti removal
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles (with / without a trailer attachment) and use bicycles and/or public transportation for travel.
  • Drive a variety of vehicles (large van, cube van, pick-up truck with a trailer) to redistribute bikes as needed based on real-time demand data.
  • Load and unload vehicles with bikes. Communicate with dispatchers and follow instructions delivered through our dispatch software.
  • Evaluate bike safety and bike station condition, and report issues to dispatch as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of the system to provide excellent customer service to current and potential customers in the field.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a valid Class G driver's license
  • Must provide a clean driver abstract
  • Strong multitasking ability
  • Drive to learn and develop skill sets
  • Must have great customer interaction skills
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of the City of Toronto, previous driving experience an asset
  • Must be physically fit, able to do repetitive work, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be tech savvy; comfortable using a smartphone
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions all year around
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
